If you wish to conduct research activities and/or stay at Akkeshi Marine Station (AMS), please contact the AMS faculties or staffs and discuss the schedule. And then, fill out the "Application for Facility Use" (please download from here), and send it by e-mail to the AMS office (akkeshijimu[at]fsc.hokudai.ac.jp, please replace [at] with @ when you e-mail us). Application form is written in Japanese, so please ask the AMS faculties to fill out a application form for you if it is difficult for you to fill out. Currently, we have set a limit on the number of people who can use the dormitory to prevent coronavirus. Therefore, as a rule, we are unable to accept applications during the field courses and classes. If you have any questions about how to fill out the application form, please contact our office.
【Notes and Requests Concerning Usage, Application, and Payment】
● Please be sure to confirm the following schedule of the field courses and classes before submitting an application.
● As a general rule, the use of dormitory is limited to research, education, and training.
● Please note that the research boats and vessels are not available during weekends and holidays except for the field courses and classes.
● Applications must be submitted at least one week in advance. Please note that we may not be able to accommodate last-minute applications.
● Payment is to be made in advance. Please pay at the office on arrival. The office is open from 8:30-12:15 and 13:00-17:00.
● If you arrive at AMS after 17:00, please pay the following day.
● For those staying only on holidays, please pay in advance by registered mail envelope for cash.
● Extension of stay will be accepted only when there is a room available.
● Please submit a single application form for the longest planned period of your stay. However, unplanned long-term applications (tentative reservations or temporary reservations for the time being) may interfere with the use of dormitory by other users, so we ask that you plan accordingly. If the length of stay is shortened, we will refund. Refunds will be made by bank transfer. Please note that it may take some time to receive your refund.
